CALL OF DUTY · MW4 · COMPETITIVE SETUP
A practical Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 (MW4) starting point for PlayStation 5, DualSense Edge and PC—covering aiming, deadzones, movement, visibility, audio and a reliable Ronin Zen calibration order.
01 · QUICK PRESET
| Setting | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Horizontal Stick Sensitivity | 1.80 |
| Vertical Stick Sensitivity | 1.80 |
| ADS Sensitivity Multiplier | 0.90 |
| Aim Response Curve | Dynamic |
| Target Aim Assist | On |
| Aim Assist Type | Default / Standard |
| Left Stick Minimum Deadzone | Lowest drift-free value, usually 2–5 |
| Right Stick Minimum Deadzone | Lowest drift-free value, usually 2–4 |
| Stick Maximum Deadzones | 99–100 |
| Trigger Deadzone | 0–2 with DualSense Edge trigger stops |
| Vibration / Trigger Effect | Off |
MW4 uses a decimal sensitivity scale. If the displayed default is 1.20, do not translate older recommendations such as 6-6 directly.
02 · SENSITIVITY
| Setting | Recommended value | ADS multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Precision / newer controller player | 1.60–1.70 | 0.90–0.95 |
| Balanced competitive — recommended | 1.80 / 1.80 | 0.90 |
| Aggressive SMG / fast turning | 1.90–2.00 | 0.80–0.90 |
Begin at 1.80 / 1.80 / 0.90. Drop both axes to 1.70 if you over-correct, or raise them to 1.90 only if close-range tracking and 180-degree turns feel too slow. Test with script Aim Assist and Snap disabled.
03 · DEADZONES
Set both minimum deadzones to 5.
Lower the minimum one point at a time. When camera drift appears, raise it by one point.
Lower the left-stick value while checking for unintended movement.
After in-game deadzones are stable, calibrate the script with both sticks completely untouched.
Do not use Anti-Drift to hide a severely worn stick. Excessive center correction can make micro-aim feel unresponsive.
04 · DUALSENSE EDGE
| Setting | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Left paddle | Jump |
| Right paddle | Crouch / Slide / Dive |
| L2 / R2 trigger stops | Shortest position |
| Edge stick response curve | Default |
| Hardware profile | One dedicated MW4 profile |
Avoid combining an aggressive Edge curve with an aggressive in-game response curve. With rear paddles, you can jump or slide without releasing the right stick.
05 · MOVEMENT & CAMERA
| Setting | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Button Layout | Default with Edge paddles; Tactical without paddles |
| Automatic Sprint | Automatic Sprint |
| Automatic Tactical Sprint | Optional; disable if it disrupts pre-aim |
| Interact / Reload | Prioritize Interact |
| Field of View | 105–110 on a monitor; 100–105 on a distant TV |
| ADS Field of View | Affected |
| Weapon Field of View | Wide |
| First Person Camera Movement | Lowest available value, commonly 50% |
FOV above 110 increases peripheral vision but makes distant targets smaller. Regular Automatic Sprint is the safer competitive baseline when Tactical Sprint adds unwanted sprint-to-fire transitions.
06 · PS5 GRAPHICS
| Setting | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| 120 Hz Refresh Rate | On, when supported |
| VRR | On when supported; compare Off if frame pacing feels unstable |
| World / Weapon Motion Blur | Off |
| Depth of Field | Off |
| Film Grain | 0.00 |
| FidelityFX CAS / Sharpening | On, approximately 50–70 |
| HDR | Only after correct display and PS5 calibration |
| On-Demand Texture Streaming | Minimal / Optimized; restrict on unstable connections |
On PS5, select Settings → Saved Data and Game/App Settings → Game Presets → Performance Mode. Use the display's Game or low-latency mode and disable motion interpolation and unnecessary post-processing.
07 · PC GRAPHICS
Use Fullscreen Exclusive when stable, select the monitor's maximum refresh rate, disable in-game V-Sync and lower shadows, volumetrics, reflections, particles and ray tracing. Avoid Frame Generation if it adds noticeable latency. Use DLSS, FSR or XeSS only when native resolution cannot sustain the target frame rate, and enable the available latency-reduction option.
08 · AUDIO & INTERFACE
| Setting | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Audio Mix | Headphones; compare Bass Boost in Training |
| Master / Effects Volume | 70–100 / 100 |
| Dialogue / Music Volume | 30–60 / 0–15 |
| Mono Audio | Off unless required for accessibility |
| Minimap Shape | Square, if available |
| Telemetry | FPS, latency and packet loss On |
Do not automatically choose the mix with the strongest bass: excessive low frequencies can mask quieter movement and environmental detail.
09 · SCRIPT PROFILES
Stable general-purpose baseline for mid-range engagements.
Close-range profile for faster tracking and movement.
Controlled profile for sustained or heavier recoil patterns.
Precision or secondary weapon configuration.
Calibrate Anti-Recoil with script Aim Assist and Snap disabled. Keep attachments, distance, FOV, sensitivity, response curve and deadzones unchanged while testing.
10 · SETUP ORDER
Enable Game Mode and confirm that the console or PC is actually outputting the intended refresh rate.
Choose FOV and graphics settings before judging controller response.
Start at 1.80 horizontal, 1.80 vertical and 0.90 ADS, then change only one variable at a time.
Find the lowest stable in-game values for each individual stick.
Keep both sticks completely untouched while running the script calibration.
Work on one weapon profile at a time in the Firing Range with consistent attachments and distance.
Configure Aim Size, Aim Speed and Aim Curve only after the native controller baseline and recoil are stable.
Repeat calibration after changing attachments, FOV, sensitivity, response curve or deadzones.
The dedicated Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer script includes four custom profiles, Smart Aim, advanced Anti-Recoil, Snap-on-ADS, movement controls and complete OLED configuration.
